ARNHEM CAVES
About 100km SWW of Windhoek, its a pefect half day activity and or a more scenic detour on your way South on your way to Fishriver with a sleepover in Stampriet area. This cave is home to a hectic amount of bats, 6 different types no less. Its a 2 and a half hour hike, its hot. Its a rather affordable guided activity, the owners take you up the mountain to the mouth of the cave on their 4x4 road and then you do the hike. There is a nice swimming pool and showers awaiting you afterwards, take a picnic box with, they also have beverages for sale, likely you can even arrange lunch with the lodge ahead of time. Do please keep in mind to use clothing you dont mind to get dirty in dust and guano. Likely you will discard said clothing^^
